Well, my friends it has been a great run in my Narrows Center studio. I have been here for close to 15 years, and it has become an extension of home. I will be here for a few more weeks, so, reach out if you want to come by.
Nothing bad has happened and my relationship with the staff and the volunteers remains strong. I just feel the need to slowdown, downsize my operation and walk on in a new direction. Time has taken a toll on me much quicker than I ever expected. But I am good.
I will be returning to my home studio full time. It's a beautiful cottage style building, seperate from my house, where the music will blast and the paint will flow. I will rely on Facebook, Instagram, and my website to display my new work, and I will return to local galleries, if they will have me. And, as always, I will personally bring my work to anyone who would like to see it in person whenever possible. I like to drive. Give me a reason!
This is not a sad thing, this is just change, quite possibly a very good change. Those who really know me understand I don't fear change, it is necessary for growth. Being at the Narrows Center has been vital for my growth as an artist. I have met so many folks and been inspired and supported in so many ways.
I will reminisce and get sentimental over the next few weeks. It's inevitable. Please just reach out if you want to see my work. Emptying my walls of about 100 paintings will be the last thing I do. But I will be split between two workplaces until Thanksgiving or possibly Christmas, depending on my energy.
Thank you to everyone, with special thanks to the Narrows Center volunteers who have supported me through enormous challenges in ways they likely don't even realize. They have, at times, been an extended family to me.
